12 Minutes Max

About 12 Minutes Max
12 Minutes Max, a showcase for new performance, gives regional artists the chance to test out new ideas and audiences the opportunity to see works-in-progress first. OtB’s longest running program has benefited artists in the Pacific Northwest for more than 30 years, and has become known as one of the country’s best experimental performance labs.

Erin Pike returns to the Max with a new solo work, Communion, that evokes the cries of a real-life religious journey expressed through memories and music.

Making his 12 Minutes Max debut and traveling from NYC, Bob Eisen finds inspiration in Lou Reed and Metallica as he creates a hyper-energetic and surprisingly exhilarating act of slightly crazed movement.

Southern Comfort is a new solo show developed and performed by John Pyburn. In this excerpt, growing up in the lone-star state of Texas can be somewhat of an ordeal as Johnny No Shoes learns all about sex, drugs and barbeques. The real question is can he find a place within all of it.

The Birds Flew In is a new play by Yussef El Guindi. A mother confronts the absence of her son killed in war; A night of recriminations, anger and loss. Performed by Gin Hammond and Directed by Sean Ryan.

ilvs strauss returns to The Max with Manifesto. What started off as a piece about sea cucumbers has now morphed into a reflection on womanhood.
