Forced Entertainment Tomorrow's Parties

THEATER | U.K.
Sun, Jan 21 at 5 pm

Forced Entertainment presents a special, one-night only event: Tomorrow’s Parties is a playful, poignant, and at times delirious look forwards to a multitude of hypothetical futures both possible and impossible. On a stage framed by colored fairground lights, a minimal set hosts a low-fi theatrical explosion. The pleasure of invention takes two protagonists in different directions. Ranging across utopian and dystopian visions, science fiction scenarios, political nightmares, and absurd fantasies, Forced Entertainment delivers a thought-provoking survey of hopes and fears as they speculate about what the future will bring.

“Exquisitely crafted, humorous yet never facile,
Tomorrow’s Parties haunts the thoughts: outstanding.”
— The Herald (Scotland, U.K.)

About the Artist

Forced Entertainment

Forced Entertainment

Forced Entertainment is a group of six artists based in Sheffield, U.K. Founded in 1984, they make work in theatre and performance and tour to audiences around the world. They have made serious work that turned out to be comical, and comical work that turned out to be deadly serious, digging deep into what theatre and performance might mean and the kinds of dialogue it can open with contemporary audiences. Their many projects aim to excite, challenge, question, and entertain other people. FE is as much interested in confusion as they are in laughter.
